Training templates & the exercise library

Build reusable workout templates from your exercise library, then assign them to any client.

Training in the Vault has two layers: the exercise library (the building blocks) and workout templates (the plans you assemble from them).

The exercise library

Your exercise library is the catalog of movements you program with — each with its own demonstration media and coaching notes. Protocol ships a base library you can extend with your own exercises so your templates always pull from movements you trust.

Workout templates

A workout template is a reusable session or plan you build once from library exercises — sets, reps, tempo, rest, and notes. Because it’s a template, it isn’t tied to any client until you assign it.

Assigning to a client

From a client’s detail page, assign a workout template to put it in their plan. The client follows it in the mobile app — working through the session, logging each set, and leaving you their results to review.

Programs vs. single workouts

For anything longer than a single session, use a Program — a multi-phase plan that can blend training and nutrition across weeks. Programs live in the Vault alongside your workout templates.
