Add a chat message to a client's Progress Entry
The "Add to Progress Entry" action on any chat message, or on a media tile in the Shared content drawer, files that message's text and attachments into the client's progress log, either on the message's own date or appended to an entry you pick.
Advanced Spotted something worth tracking in a chat? Add to Progress Entry captures it directly into the client’s progress log without leaving the conversation: no copy-pasting, no manual entry.
Coach/admin only. This action is available to coaches and admins; clients don’t see it.
1-on-1 chats only. Add to Progress Entry is offered in your direct chat with a client, and always files into that client’s progress, whether the message was sent by the client or by you. In group chats the Shared content drawer still works, but this action is not shown.
Where to find it
There are two entry points:
- Any message in the thread. Hover the message and open the ⋮ (more) menu, then choose Add to Progress Entry.
- Any media tile in the Shared content drawer. Open the drawer with the shared-media icon in the conversation header, then use the ⋮ on a tile, which opens the same dialog directly rather than a menu. See Browse shared media, files & links →.
What gets filed
| Source | What lands in the entry |
|---|---|
| Message text | Added to the entry’s internal notes, which are coach-only; the client never sees them |
| Attached images or videos | Attached to the entry as progress media |
| Attached documents | Attached to the entry as progress media |
The two choices
The dialog has no date field. The date is the message’s own send date, and you only decide where the content lands:
- Entry for the message’s date (new or existing) files it against that date. If an entry for that day already exists it is topped up rather than duplicated; if not, a fresh one is created. The message text goes into internal notes, and any media attaches to the entry as progress media.
- Append to an existing entry lets you pick a specific entry from the client’s history instead, which is what you want when the message is about a check-in from another day. The new notes are appended below any existing ones, and media is added alongside what is already there. The option is greyed out on a client with no entries yet.
Finding the entry
The filed entry appears in the client’s Tracking tab under Check-ins, with a Coach source chip, the same chip used when you log an entry manually. From there you can open it and write a report on it. See The Tracking tab →, Progress reports → and Check-ins & progress tracking →.
