Messaging & chat
Talk to your clients in real time — rich-formatted messages, photos and voice notes, @mentions, edits, read receipts, and announcement-only groups. Web and mobile, fully in sync.
Messaging is where day-to-day coaching happens. Every client has a conversation with you, and you can spin up group conversations for cohorts, challenges, or your whole roster. Messages sync in real time across your web dashboard and your clients’ mobile app — send a photo from your laptop and it’s on their phone before they’ve put it down.
Chat has grown into a deep feature set. This section walks through all of it, from the basics (sending a message) to the advanced controls (announcement-only groups, message editing, mentions). Pages are tagged Basic for everyday use and Advanced for power features you can grow into.
Where to find chat
- Web dashboard — the chat icon in the top header, or anywhere you see a client’s conversation (a client’s profile has a chat tab with your full history together).
- Mobile app — your clients message you from the branded app; you can reply from the app too.
Basic vs. advanced
| Start here Basic | Grow into Advanced |
|---|---|
| Sending messages, replies, read receipts | Rich formatting & @mentions |
| Photos, files, voice notes | Editing & deleting messages |
| Notifications | Announcement-only / read-only groups |
Pick a guide:
Messaging basics
Start conversations, send messages, reply to a specific message, and read the status icons — everything you need for day-to-day chat.
Formatting & mentions
Make messages clearer with bold, italic, lists of formatting, links, inline code and code blocks — and pull someone in with an @mention that notifies them.
Editing & deleting messages
Fix a typo or wrong number after you've sent it — edit any of your messages at any time, delete ones you don't want, and copy text out.
Photos, files & voice
Send images, videos and documents — from your device or your Vault media library — plus voice notes, emoji, and saved message templates for things you type often.
Announcement & read-only groups
Run a group where only you (and admins) can post — perfect for broadcasts, cohorts, and announcements — by setting roles and per-person posting permission.
Notifications
How chat notifications work — when a push is sent, who gets it, what an @mention adds, and how it behaves when the app is already open.
Messaging on mobile
What chat looks like for your clients in the branded mobile app — what they can read, how they send and manage messages, and the one difference from the web composer.
